Help......!!!

Driving to work this morning, I noticed my brake light & battery light both came on at the same time. This happened less than 5min from leaving my house. I checked to battery terminals to see if anything became disconnected, and I also went to autozone and checked the codes with their scanner (No Codes Found). The brakes feel the same and nothing seems to be wrong with the charging system. What's should I do next?

Alternator probably, maybe low on brake fluid, weak battery, maybe all that pointless stereo stuff had something to do with it?. Next time you start a thread, say what it's about in the title.

Most likely alternator. Your max is wired for both lights to come on when charging voltage is to low. Have your charging system checked.

Definitely alternator. If the car is still running, it won't be for long.

Dammn!......The alternator I have right now has only been in since December....It does have a lifetime warranty though...If that's deffinitely the problem, it shouldn't cost me anything. Thank you for all in info guys.

hmmm, thats pretty quick for an alternator to die in four months, check your belts too, make sure nothing is loose.

Oops...I got my "embers" mixed up....It was late Sept-ember when I replaced the alternator. But, that still wasn't that long ago.

check your break fluid and test your battery with a multimeter. if those are fine get alternator tested.

I just checked the brake fluid and the level is fine. I also checked each and every fuse (all ok)...Tried the "disconnect the negative batter terminal while the car is running" trick and the car DIED....so...now the only thing to do IS replace the alternator....AGAIN

it is not unusual for the brake light to come on in a low voltage situation. replace the battery or alternator...whichever one is bad will fix both lights.

Definitely the alternator I am working on my third in four years. That is the way my car usually signals its death.

There was a recall on Maxima alternators a while back, it may have only been for 97s though, if not its something to check into to get it replaced for free.
