problem starting car
Ok, this is not the first time it has happened, but my maxima had trouble starting again today. Temperature was around low 40s and it was pouring outside. The car starts but it quickly dies. Car turns over and engine revs up, but then it just dies right after. I have to step on the pedal and rev the engine for a few seconds to finally stay on. Not sure where to look for problems. I hope its not any major electrical issue. Any help? Thanks

same thing was happening to me just recently, mine turned out to be my intake air temp. sensor. get a haynes manual and a multi-meter and they'll tell you how to test it, or just scan your computer for a trouble code. it sounds exactly like what i went through. when your car finally runs on its own, does it idle low?

Check for the codes but it supposed to be a Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF) our 4gen max has 2 sensors
1) Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF)
2) Crankshaft Position Sensor (POS)
So i think the problem is 1) check the codes first if its Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF)
when you are going to buy it make sure you say (REF) its located on the oil pan below the crankshaft pulley ,but pull out the codes first
