My 98 max seems to hunt around for idle when i start it cold. This doesnt happen all the time but seems to be getting more frequent. Once it starts it idles and runs perfectly fine. This seems similar to problems with other cars i have had where they would stall because of a vaccuum leak when i came to a stop. But this only happens on cold starts, and I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. has anyone else experienced anything similar, and if so any quick fixes? Car runs fine otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I had this very problem. The fix in my case was a dirty throttle body and IACV. Look in the stickys for ways to clean both. THE IACV was the main problem I believe.
