Calcium Lime & Rust.

It reverses the mineralization process, so instead of corroding, it cleans.

Pics would be nice to see if it's actually reducing or oxidizing.

I talked to my mechanic and he said CLR is not a good idea because it is flammable, he said the best bet is to brush it with steal

Is the anything else I could do, don't really feel like brushing it

cover elec. connections, hose it down, spray simple green in one area and then take a course brush wheel brush and go to town. Make sure to rinse off simple green before it drys or it will stain. Use some armor all on the rubber hoses. yadda yadda yadda

I guess, haven't experienced it myself.. saw it on a thread a bit ago. Probably just leaves something like water marks like on a non-dried hood.

im telling you clr is you just have to hose your hood down once your done and scrub it all out then hose down again you will never see a cleaner engine bay or you could just chrome all the mettalic parts under the hood like tony arrafio did nice shyt

According to the msds, the flammibility is only "1". As is slight. But it IS corrosive.

Which CLR are you referring to?
