Need some help/advice now

I have a 96 maxima WITHOUT the Bose stereo in it. I'm trying to take out the factory radio and intstall a Kenood CD player in its place. The only thing holding me back is that I cannot unscrew the 4 phillips screws holding the factory radio to the side brackets. I have taken off everything else secured to the brackets with the same exact screws (climate controls, old cd player under the radio, and storage box). I even tried using a professional power screwdriver to take them out but even when I put all my weight on top of it, it just starts to strip the screw head. What am I doing wrong?!?

Those are some very stubborn screws I went thru same thing you are going thru.

The way I was able to get it out was putting a star point screw driver inthere a good size to match the screw and press in very hard and turning very little repedatively to try and break it free, after about 5 times of doing that I managed to break them free.

but if you cant break them free you may need to drill them out, I have extra screws if you need them I could ship then to you no charge if it comes to that.

Thanks MDeezy and 98maximaSS. I think I'll just drill them out. I don't need the extra screws you offered MDeezy (thank you anyway). It is just really frustrating that 4 screws are holding me back!

Yeah man I had the same problem but it was only one screw which is even more frustrating. What I ended up doing is twisting the whole bracket around and the screw turned enough so that i could unscrew it. Goodluck.
