Ok, here is the newest one ...

I get in, put the key in, turn to start vehicle ..... dash lights come on and it doesn't crank - nothing, no noise, it's like I'm just turning the aux. on.

What is this all about? There is sometime a split second hesitation when I try to start the car (once in a blue moon) but now - for the first time, it pulled that crap.

Any suggestions?

 

when was the last time u changed ur fuel filter, ignition coils, and all that crap?
might be ur ignition starter...
i dont know anything really about this stuff, but maybe that information will give others an idea

 

it is probably your starter, also check your battery and battery terminals

 

Could be the ignition switch itself, the contacts possible wore out especially from alot of short trips. Go Vols.

My 5spd is starting to do that same thing to me but if I keep releasing and pushing the clutch eventually it starts.
