For guys running SPRINTS?

i have sprint springs myself and for those of you who are running sprints, i have a quick question. have any of you cut coils off the rear. if yes, how's the ride, it is bouncy..and unsafe or is it good. if possible post pics. and also if yes where do you cut the springs. the reason i'm asking is the fact that my sprint drop to me looks uneven. i'm runing them with 18's and it looks uneven very noticably.

yea i notice that without cutting the rear it looks uneven, (unless u have a huge sub in the trunk) I cut mine 1 coil in the rear, it sits pretty much perfect. here r a few pictures:

those r a few.. check out the thread for a lot more pictures...
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=378781

The ride isnt rough at all. During the winter the sprints with agxs were a fairly rough ride. Now that it has warmed up a good bit i dont mind the ride at all. People sleep in the back of my car all the time and have no compliants about the ride at all. I couldnt tell a chnage in the ride at all after i choped 1 coil off the rear. I dont regret doing it at all. The finger gap in the rear is exactly 2 of my fingers. Front in 1 1/2.

Good luck!

sorry foget to answer your question about cutting them. You have to cut off a dead spring. All this mean is when they are fully compress the spring touchs another spring. I just read this is a recient post. I just cut 1 coil off the top with a hacksaw. If you have a dremel or any other power tool i would use it. if u have any other questions free free to ask!

I'm also running on SPRINTS w/ AGXs and can vouch for everything sean05 said with two solely personal opinions. Cutting the rear makes the ride a little bit softer (better weight balance between front and rear, confirmed by friends) and I feel the car handle turns better BEFORE the coil was cut. Nonetheless, I highly recommend getting the 1 coil cut off the rear but no more than 1 coil b/c any more than that the spring will NOT sit onto the shocks when not compressed (means it can more around if there's no weight compressing it, which is dangerous should you hit a nice bump or jack up your car and it can move off its perch). I had mine cut by a friend's auto garage and I would guess most can do for a few bucks b/c it shouldn't cost much to do assuming if you bring the springs to the shop.

How are the roads in Queens? I've been through Brooklyn (HORRIABLE roads for this setup) a few times and if Queens is anything like Brooklyn then I don't know why you are running with Sprints and on 18"!?!?. I'm on 15" with a lot of rubber!! But if Queens is like Manhattan, then you are OK if you can bear the bumps.

Good luck.

Can you extrapolate a little why not cut the coil? What shocks did you use them with?
The decision on actually buying it is another story... Riding on Sprints really depend on your tolerance on how the car rides.

sprints are just pretty much just to slam the car.. You can really race on these springs because there vitually no suspension travel. Even when coupled with AGX, Illuminas, or Koni, the suspension travel isnt there. Also these springs tend to sag over time.

yea sprints are more of a look. I have them and before i thought i made a huge mistake buying them. But over time i have learned to like them. I cut one rear coil on mine and it feels the same.

Classic uninformed post. Don't pay attention to it. Like water off a duck...

Hes low in front, i agree. But thats the only set of Sprints Ive seen go that low. Were they that low from day one, or did they just gradualy get there?
Seriuosly, lots of org members have Sprints. Back in the day, Sprints with KYB's was the most common setup. I havent seen or heard of anyone sagging with them. Like I said, I had mine on for over 3yrs, my buudy put his on a couple of months before me and hes auto. His still look the same as when he first put his on.
