replacing front struts..
replacing front struts..
My left front is wobbly and does not really hold the road anymore and it looks like it's time to get the new struts.. (rears were replaced a few months back).
here are the questions
1 should I just get the strut assembly
or also the mounts ?
2 anything else? also, I don't intend on keeping the car for a while.. so any was thinking of going with something cheap....
thanks
btw, what did you pay for the labor to have these installed?
thx

They're quite easy to install. You just need to borrow some spring compressors from Pep Boys, etc. and download the instructions from the link in the FAQ section. Once that's done you have to get a place to do an alignment job.
if u want cheap....you could go to pepboys and get monroe struts installed...I think they have a lifetime warranty...so if they ever went bad you could just go back and get them replaced for free...also go in the stickys and read about struts...theres a lot of info in there
you don't need an alignment when you change struts on a maxima. the only thing adjustable is the toe. And as long as you dont remove or loosen the tie rod from the rack you'll be fine.
(the tie rod doesnt need to be touched to change the struts)
