Tranny Issues :-(

Im having massive tranny issues, that are really odd.some days the shifts are really rough, sometimes it wont go in gear, but afew seconds later it will.
Some days its as smooth as silk. I had the tranny rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and the clutch was replaced. I bought the clutch off of ebay, they said it was an exedy oem replacement. Im thinking it was one of those key values. Just wanna hear ur thoughts, Im getting ready to buy a new clutch, but I dont wanna do that if I need to send the tranny back. I really need your help guys.

I have the Exedy OEM too. After some 12,000 miles, I would have to say the clutch is much smoother than stock but does not grip as well. For daily driving it is great. Smooth smooth smooth. However, when reving to redline, I have had it slip badly to the next gear such that I would have to reclutch.

Sounds like something else is wrong with yours other than simply being a property of the clutch. Key values are actually fine for everyone except the performance minded. Are the rough shifts and gear change problems occuring when you are pushing it or just with every day driving?

Your clutch hydraulics are probably failing. You could start by bleeding them, but really a rebuilt master and slave cylinder is the answer.

It's possible the clutch line was damaged during the clutch install - if so, spring the extra $20 for one of those too or get a stainless one.
