something wrong with my ecu?

something wrong with my ecu?

When i tryed to get the code for my engine light that came on, while turning the screw, it wont stop turning, there is no stopping point. So i cant check out what the code is. Any info on this?

you broke the screw...either buy a scantool, or go to an autozone, and they'll check it for free.

really, i didnt think autozone did that anymore. How much is a scantool? and how could i have broken the screw, is it replaceable?

Yea it seems like the screw is broken. Check ebay, you could probably even get a new ECU for a low price.

dont worry about buyin a new ecu just go to auto zone they will check it for free

i called autozone and they only do it on 96 and newer vehicles, i have a 95, think they would know the dif?

Nissan was quick on the draw b/c they amde all 95s were OBDII compliant, but it was federal regulation that all vehicles from 96 on were required, Nissan was just early .. yes they can do it on your 95

You have a problem, the screw needs to be in the normal position. Car will act real funny if hte screw is in diagnostics mode.

well, i went to autozone and they couldnt do it, he knew it was a 95, and from what he was using to check the engine light it wouldnt work. How can i move the screw into the normal position?

I don't know how you will be able to put hte screw in place, but your OBDII port is near the ECU on hte passenger side. Autozone can check the codes...
