wow just removed my g-force ecu

for the first time in 2 years i had to remove my g-force to pass emissions. Let me just say this car is pathetic on the highway without the ecu....i can only imagine how much better it is with the VI. The car overall feels much better with the stock ecu though. Feels more rough with the gforce. not sure if thats because i have a 95 ecu in a 97 or what. anyone else ever try this with there ECUs ????

Yep, you can really notice them when the power isn't there. I went from ecu ypipe mevi catback to just mevi/catback and boy did it feel slow. Basically went from high 13s to high 14s in one afternoon.

I did back to back 1/4 mile runs with my stock vs. G-Force ECU one night several years ago. The G-Force helps .08 seconds average. I spent $500 for nothing. It has been sitting in my garage for the last 3 years.

I'm willing to sell it. Keep in mind it is for a '96 CA emissions Auto. I took it out because I went SC. I was told when I bought it that an SC program was in the works and when the time came, all I had to do was pay $50 for the upgrade. That never happened. So there is sits. I paid $500 because I was not willing to send in my stock ECU, so I had to eat the core charge. I would like to get at least $300 so I don't have to eat that much. If you are serious, let me know.

i notice a huge difference on the highway...i think the stock ecu feels better down low and my tranny seems to shift smoother with it. either way i think im going back once i pass emissions. its nice not having the cel light though

Man if I was not in the middle of getting a house I would jump on the ECU . It would be a perfect match for my Max .

Well, just contact me any time in the future if you ever want it. It's not going anywhere - lol. But yeah, buying a house is much more important. Looks like you're in San Diego, I don't know how you are affording a house in S.D. but I give you credit. When I bought my house, I had to move up here to Wildomar, about 40 miles north of S.D. in order to afford a house. And the sad thing is I wouldn't even be able to afford my own house if I had to buy it again today (went up almost $200,000 in the last 2.5 years). Good luck.

Thanks.

I know what you mean about the prices, it is rediculous. Anything decent will run you about $500,000 dollars. I hope things turn out well.

I run my stock ECU as a sort of forced traction control during winter. Each spring I love the extra 8hp and 10tq (under curve gains). Also, I don't get correct error codes with the GF so swapping helps identify probs like my blown O2 sensor (again)

i finally took out the stock ecu, and replaced it with the technosquare ecu... WHAT A PAIN ! first i went after the 2 screws in the front and 2 in the rear using a ratchet bit set ( kinda like a 90 degree screw driver thing ) after a fight I got the first right side screw out in front, and then fought to get around the back. then the cheap thing breaks on me, man i hate chinese tools !

so then changed plans and went after the bracket and was able to use a 10 mm socket to wrestle it out. finally i got the blasted bracket and ecu out, and boy was i glad, that is a royal pain !

Chinese tools on Japanese cars
Seriously, once it's swapped just hand tighten the drivers side rear screw easiest to reach and it becomes a 45sec swap.
