are cheap ebay parts crap?

pretty much all strut bars are the same. the ebay ones may give you slight fitment issues though. i had to send mine back for a replacement because the bolts didnt quite line up right. but i dont hear about people having issues beyond that with the ebay ones and i rarely hear about the issue i had too.

come on guys no need to use my thread as a place to increase your post count, and no insulting each other or the mods will go on a power trip and start banning ppl (jk i love all you guys). anyway, to answer your question i was also looking at some clear bumper lights for 10-20 bucks which is a lot better deal than $44 on custommaxima.com. I'm on a tight budget now that my car is insured under my name instead of my parents and i just finished a year of college. need to be as thrifty as possible!!

There are good deals and rips off's on ebay. I think you are on the right track asking here on specific items as someone can usually refer you to a particular ebay seller they have used with success. Example: I bought and referred many org'rs to an ebayer who has by far the best deal on replacement antenna masts saving fellow org'rs as much as $100 as some thought they had to get the whole antenna motor. So good question! Just keep it specific, the FSTB's on ebay are all pretty much the same so go with the cheapest, check shipping as that's where you'll find the most price differences. Good luck

yeah i have noticed that while some parts seem like good deals, the sellers can stab you in the back with high shipping prices. thanks for the advice, i'll keep looking till i find the best deal and then order my part

well you should look at the sellers feedback score if they are a power seller also try to buy from companies and not private sellers also if it sounds to good to be true it prolly is a scam and just use common sence and make sure you know how much shipping is before you buy something

I've bought a lot of parts off of eBay for my 1992 Max and never had a problem with any of them. For example, I bought a remanufactured steering rack, lower control arms, inner tie rods, ball joints, spark plug wires, window regulators, power window switches, alloy wheels, tires, and a leather steering wheel cover -- to name a few. Oh, and I bought two FSTB's for $9.00 and they work just fine.
Like anything else, it is caveat emptor, and it is up to you to check out a seller's feedback history, and even, as I have done, contact other eBay buyers to get their personal take on what they bought.
Another great source of parts is the salvage yards. You can post your request online to a website called, JunkYardDog.com, and that request will be seen by several dozens of salvage yards who will respond to you with price quotes.
I weas lucky to find a really, really good yard to supply me with quality used parts at low prices. The store name is RJ Salvage, the owner's name is David, and if you want to contact him, PM me and I'll give you his email address. As an example of what I bought from David, I got a complete sunroof, in great condition, for $120 shipped.

I have a 20$ ebay strut bar and had no problems with fitment issues. I see no reason to spend 100 or even 50$ on something you can get for 20$ and will do the job just as well. I say go with it, and whats the worst that happens you send it back to get another one to fit better or just jet a drill and make it work you know. Its only metel dont be afraid to play with it.

I ran into a problem with fitment for my FTSB. There was a useless peice of metal near the drivers side shock bolts. I sawed it off my car. The neighbors were giving me funny looks when I did that. But I got it to work.
Some people might have sent their FTSB back, but I know that that peice wasnt needed, so I took it off.

I have seen the mod chips like redline and juicebox on Ebay
I thought that these were resistors that trick your ECU into thinking its getting colder air, thus, increasing your HP
but what I dont get is the amount of feedbacks these companies get. If this product doesnt work, why would they praise them?

what exactly do the speed chips do , like that 20+ HP ?
from what i seen on ebay is that everyone is satisfied and on here i hear that i shouldnt get it. What exactly do these things do, besides maybe buying a resistor ?
THanks

ok guys, different from strut bars. The more expensive struts bars are built better with bigger bolts. Bigger bolts are able to sithstand more pressure and less likely to move. When you turn hard, the bolts that need to be tightened may not be strong enough to NOT move making it useless.

ok, you got me. I'm wondering how the FSTB is hitting anything. Got a pic of this?
