my trunk opens fine when i use the key but my auto open button next to the driver seat doesnt work. i can hear it making a sound in the rear of the car when i push it but the trunk doesnt open. i already made sure that the little lever was set to unlocked so that it should open when i push the button. ideas?

 

i just had this problem.i took off the latch near the bumper and had a metal shop weld an extension piece to it. after they welded and sanded it down smooth,i bent it in a 45 degree angle,so that it will hit the trunk lid latch. mine was worn out thats why i had to do that. good luck,hope this helps.

DAAAAAMMMMM STRAIGHT...I brazed an extention piece on the little latch thingy. Now it grabs and works perfectly.

 

well, i have the same problem, mines was the spring. it was loose already, so it needed replacement. but it came up well cuz now that i have a system i can only open it with the key, and if they try to jack my stuff, they wud need the key. lol. i wont be replacing it. it works better for me, but the spring is my problem.
