not holding a charge

I finally just got finished fixing my sunroof and I'm almost done with getting the interior back together. but I reattached the battery cables to test the sunroof and the car was dead...so I jumped it, ran it for a while to charge back up, and next day, it was dead again. several times now. Could there be something drawing current and draining the battery, or is it more likely that my batteries done?

if your battery is 4 or more years old, its time to replace it. what was the voltage at running and at key off.?

I'll have to check, don't have a meter here. The batteries pretty new though. Thanks

theres a few things it could be. first get your battery charged & have it drop tested to see if its faulty. once checked, if faulty then replace it, if not then the next step is check the alternator to see if its charging or has a short on it which causes a drain.

make sure your terminals are clean. You may not have a good connection after you re-connected the battery.

With the car off, check the voltage between positive and negative terminals. It should be around 14.1-14.7volts. If its between, then your car is making full charge and there is not problem with your charging system. If its not between, move to next step below.

With the car on, check the voltage between the positive terminal and a ground. It should be around 14.1-14.7volts. If its between 14.1-14.7volts, then your alternator is fine. You should check connections, or possibly you have a dead battery. If its not between 14.1-14.7volts, then your alternator needs to be replaced.
