Body Kit Question

Here's the story guys. I've had my body kit sitting in my garage for months now. I havent had the time to get estimates or anything, but i had a friend ask his hookup and hes said 1800 to install the front, rear, and side skirts and paint it. my car is pearl white. Im in miami, i dont know if different cities are more or less expensive but i need input from people that know a good price for the job. people in miami let me know those shop locations. thanks people

A possible way to cut down on price is to have them paint the pieces and then installing them yourself.

Wow That's very expensive. You could almost get a full-car paint job for that.

It should only be a few hundred (maybe around 400~500 for the full kit) to paint all the pieces and the install you can do yourself.

BTW, post this in the regional forum for better responses.

Whatever you do DON'T HAVE IT PAINTED FIRST and then try to install it yourself if you've never done it before you'll probably end up scratching the new paint on the kit. Either way it is a little expensive unless you're gonna have them mold the back bumper and side skirts. (Molded rear bumper looks alot cleaner+extra point at car shows)

$1800 is a bit expensive for a body kit, painted and installed. $600- $800 is more of a fair amount for that.

For those who think a whole car can be painted for $!800, call Maco.
A quality paint job on a Maxima is in the neighborhood of $3000.

a good paintjob that will last as long as dealership paint, yes, about $3000 for paint. Its not the paint thats expensive, its being able to match the paint perfectly. but since you're repainting the whole car, there's no need to mat ch the paint therefor making it cheaper in a way. Plus on how clean of a job they do, you can see the difference in price since a cheaper place might have dirt underneat the clear coat and/or fingerprints underneath the clear coat. yes, that can happen. and also, they need to bake the paint so it won't come off if it chips from a rock. how long they bake it, how many clear coats, and what kind of clear coat they use is what you're paying for.

i got mine installed and painted for about $1000. 1800 is a little much if you ask me. I would say unless you have expierence dont install the kit yourself. I tried and not everything was 100%. good luck pearl white ROCKS!

he wants to charge me 1800 to paint the whole car with the body kit on it. i initially thought that it was suppose to be under 1000 but it got me thinkin if it could really be 1800. so if i want to put it on and paint the whole car it shouldnt be that much rite?? i dont think i wanna just paint the kit because the paint will have a tough time matching the car and i dont think i wanna install it myself because i want it done atleast semi-professionally.

If it's the whole car i think it's a good deal (so far i heard $2k for the whole car), but do you need to repaint your car just to install body kits? If you don't, save the money for other thing (this is only my personal opinion).

in miami its 400 to paint all 4 parts of a body kit and then the install price is always different cuz they might run into problems fitting it and all that but all in all it should cost about 700 painted and installed

painting it is no hard at all, since u are in miami, if u do it in a nice hot sunny day, the paint should spread and bake nicely, ur just spray painting it on, not that difficult at all..
