So how would you address the black border around the edges of the (altezza) outter lenses so that the edges of the inner lenses match? More importantly, how would you address the horizontal lines that runs across the middle of the (altezza) outter lenses? The (stock) inner lenses doesn't have this.

The only way I can see both outter and inner matching up well is if you also use the inner lense of the Altezza and replace the stock inner lenses with those. The black border around the lense edges will match and also the lines across the middle of the lenses will match.

you can paint the silver edge of the euro light lens black if you would like, or you can leave it silver. also the horizontal lines there is nothing you can do about that you dont really see them anyways after it is all said and done

I could see the difference.......... can anyone else see it???

And that's a photo, imagine in person. For a free mod, if you have the Altezza already, you can't be too picky. For me, its not good enough. I'm too much of a perfectionist. To each his own. Thanks for sharing though.

Of course, you'd be stupid not to since they dont match the outer ones at all. I always wondered why people complained, even on the 97+ about them not matching...just do the inner ones to

Hey guys, the tan car is mine. Yes, you can do the mod for the clears across as well, but it will look completely ****ty up close. Since you can see through the clear, you can see the bead of silicone and the dremeled spots. I did the set on my car and have seen the clear modded as well and it looks very rough up close. I will deal with the slight mis-matched clear (for it is almost un-noticeable unless pointed out) to have the red/clears that look stock (except for the silver trim, I know).

i have a few more pictures for you guys

use a magic marker and cut out a piece of the clear plastic to fit the tail light (you want the rough side to face out)

this is where you will silicone the plastic to the light housing

after puttin on the silicone put the plastic piece on there and use duck tape to hold it in place while it dries

i'll have some pictures up soon of the reinstallion of the new red and clear lens

Those came out pretty nice, the only other thing I would do is paint the trim black. That will make them look more like the originals

Drivinmax you are doing all the 95-96 owners such a great favor...Im sure everyone could just appreciate the fact that you are only trying to help and not criticize every little detail esp. now that they can actually have some red/clears that everyone has been longing for....GREAT JOB.

I'll have to try this soon...

When you paint the Euro lense red, do you paint the inside or outside of the lense?

You can probably paint both, but for drivinmax and I, we did the outside. I noticed after like, 3 months, there was a slight fade, but it was easy to tape it off and coat it again with the Testors Candy Apple Red Translucent spray paint.

i painted both the inside and outside it gives for a more deep red color. if you only paint the outside at night when the parking light is on or you press the brake it looks pink

i don't understand why you guys don't get rid of the silver trim?! it's not that hard...when i made an attempt at the body colored altezzas, i used goo gone or goof off (forget which one) and it wiped off easily. if i were you, i'd do that and paint it black or do something because that's the finishing touch to this project. otherwise, good write up for people, i doubt many will do it successfully because altezzas are so fragile and crack pretty easily, but good job none the less.
