back deck noise

back deck noise

i get a clunkin sound from my rear somewhere. sound like something is swinging from a rope and hitting metal form the rear of my car. it comes when i brake suddenly or accelerate suddenly.anyone have any idea about this?thanks

In your trunk there are some metal bars that should have a plastic seperater to keep them from rubbing. Check and see if it is there.

really...casue my sub box hits them if i try to push the box back farther. i just dont see what they actually do...

my clunkin sound comes usually in intervals of 3,like its hittin back and forth.
yall still think that has to do with the plastic seperator? is it a seperator for the trunk springs?

Can you tell if it's coming from the trunk area or can you only tell that it is coming from somewhere in back of the car? When my exhaust rusted out and the hangers were no longer doing their job I got the kind of sound you're describing whenever I went over bumps, accelerated, braked, etc... Just a thought if you've ruled out everything else
