Cali Spec Engine in a Federal Spec Engine Bay
I am in need of a Engine and was able to locate one however, the one I located is a 99 Cali Spec Engine.
Is there any MAJOR Difference between Cali and Few and can it be converted to Federal Specs?
Also will the 99 Engine pose any problems when installing it in my 1995, I know that many try to stick with the same year as thier car but if works without many complications I'd rather go this route.
Thanks!
JP

the difference is that cali spec has an extra 02 sensor in the header(or is it y pipe, memory's not so good) but if you are puting that in a fed spec i dont think it would matter. if it was the other way around though (fed engine in cali car) the ecu wouldnt recieve a signal from an 02 and who knows what kind of fun and games that would cause. hope this helped, feel free to correct me if im wrong guys

swirl valves, electric EGR, precat, a few other very minor things, possibly the timming cover is a slightly different shape. most of the electrical connectors are different too, though they may still plug in.
