I own a '98 barebones GXE with no power seats and no heated option. I want to swap in some GLE leather seats. Questions are:

1)for the power, is the harness always pre-wired from the factory, even on GXE's?

2)if there is a harness, what kind of circuit breaker must I add to the circuit breaker panel (any specfic part #, etc would be helpful) to get the harness live?

3) is there a writeup out there on how to do this, or at least how to install the switches/harness for the heated element?

manufacturers use the same pre-wired wiring looms for all the same models regardless of whether elec/heated seats ect are fitted or not. you will more than likely find that all the connectors are already where they should be. you will have to get things like fuses, relays ect that wont be fitted to yours to get things to work.

 

How much would it cost for all of that including seats.

 

I have heated seats as well. The connectors are not there. If anyone knows we would appreciate the insight. I've seen this posted so many times, not once have I seen an answer. I would love to know so I can connect my seats as well. I have the power seats working, just waiting on the heated part (now that winter is over I may get it).

 

the only thing i can think of is : the main loom may run near to where the heated seat switches are located. from there they may be a short loom that is not supplied that connects to main loom, to the switch, then to the heater element. this is quite common in uk vehicles for such additions as elec seats, air con, elec/heated mirrors which can be optional extras.
