9007 headlight wire diagram

I drew up a quick wire diagram for making your own harness for the 9007 headlight coversion.

the thicker lines are 12gauge wires
the thin lines are the stock headlight wires

let me know what you think
it should work alright as drawn, but please offer any suggestions.

I've never been able to find a clear wire diagram for this conversion, so i'm offering this one to make it more clear for us "do it yourselfers"

looks nice, better than the one I did in ms paint. One diffrence I noticed was I used a 30A fuse. Is 20A enough?

the write up that i looked at said to use a 20amp fuse, and 30amp relays.

also their should be two fuses, one for each relay, so in case it blows you don't lose all of your lights.

Definetly use separate fuses for hi and low.

Mark the terminals of the relay:
30 Battery +12v
87 Upgraded Headlight wire to bulb +12v
87a not used
85 Ground
86 Original Headlight wire from switch +12v

Whatever size fuses I stated in the original thread is what you need for stock wattage bulbs. Overwatt bulbs may need more current. Also you don't need 12 awg wire, 14 awg should do fine.

Nice picture indeed.
