Coils fine?

Today I check my coil packs with the multimeter...everything read the same so I guess they are ok. I also turned the car on and unplugged the coils, each one caused an effect on the idle. I checked the coilpacks, are there more other than the ones underneath the plastic cover where the oil goes in? Are my spark plugs possibly bad?

6 coils - 3 where you checked and 3 in the cylinders towards the firewall... your car is a V6 - you have one coil for each cylinder.

if the 98 Intake manifold is anything like the 95 one they should sit in between the gaps in the manifold.

i just checked the back coilpacks by the firewall...all seem to be working, but the car started throwing 0201...could it be because the coils were unplugged? or was it because of the bad one being disconnected?

I did reset it, and the code was thrown again. Then I reset it a second time, the light started blinking while the engine was running. Reset it a third time, and it finally went away. So, anyway, my coil packs are fine, but its the final problem I could possibly have? Unless its the spark plugs. Any ideas?

Cars runs sluggish when accelerating, and in between 2k-3k. This seems to be a common problem.

I have replaced my MAF, and KS. Both of which everyone had said that problem was. Now the only thing left would be the coils and/or spark plugs....this has to be it.

recheck your connections. and make sure the harness's are tight. if you have close to 100,000 miles or better. and youve never replaced your coil packs, now is a good time to do it. they are a wear item.

261k miles on my original coil packs I was looking into getting some new Mitsubishi ones but at $330 for all 6 I think I might put it off a bit longer. lol

It's all in the stickies above - plus, there's a nice writeup in one of the posts on changing coils. Just do a search...

Or you could check it with a multimeter... I imagine that would be smarter.

Anyway, has anyone thought about going to a shop about this problem? It seems to be common.
