Headers... is it worth the $$$?

I've been interestined in getting the Cattman headers. I've heard that the horsepower increase is only felt in the higher RPM (4.5k - 5k+), so is it worth getting if I have an automatic tranny? My daily driving rarely goes over 4k RPM. I'd like to hear your thoughts, or if you already have it, was it worth the big bucks?

You must be studying to hard for those exams, madnut (more likely not at all, lol). Could you repeat the question?

Now that I've re-read your post, I think you are trying to ask: "Does anyone sell headers that will be compatible with the Budget y-pipe".

I think the short answer is "no."

i have headers and the ypipe with stillen pop charger. the car sounds feakin awsome and you can tell a difference in pickup especially around 60mph - over 100mph and in high rpms.

then they are called exhaust manifolds, and arent really headers. headers generally arent as high quality as exhaust manifolds. They need to be able to withstand extremely high temps and pressures.

yes you gain next to nothing it's a plus or minus 1-2 hp accross the range.
the time and effort to put them in is way to much for the gains.
they look nice once installed tho...

For the sound that they emit (cattman headers/downpipe that are equal-lengthed) its well worth the price of admission.

i disagree completely.

infact some would say that paying 700 for headers and another 300 for the install just for sound would be called...RICE! obviously you can say it adds HP but nothing worth talking about over a aftermarket y.

Look at my buddy cesear's chariot. he's not any faster after the y pipe to headers swap...

budget y pipe, custom b pipe, stock muffler. that what i would do if i put another exhaust on a 4th gen. cheapest bang for your buck hands down.

if you just want some SS under your hood, or awsome sound, and you like to throw alot of money into a car that isn't worth very much do it.

if you want performance go with what i stated above.
