Anyone else have fitment problems w/ their ebay fstb? (Pics)
well i ordered an "SPW" FSTB off ebay and tried to install it today and cannot get it to fit. its adjustable but the bar will not clear the wires over the intake manifold. anyone know what to do - thanks guys.
me and my max the past 2 weeks --
1. exhaust begins to leak AGAIN (3rd time) and my car sounds like NASCAR
2. KS dies and my car begins to ride like crap - i lose to an integra off the line
3. my shifter keeps hitting the trim in 3rd.
4. 9007 conversion actually works - after i have to buy new bulbs because one dropped and broke.
4. Strut Bar FINALLY comes and it doesnt fit.
ohhh how i love modding

ok thanks guys - yea mike i was thinkin about that but i was wondering if the bar would perform as well if it wasnt flush with the top of the struts mounts. i mean, i know they dont do a whole, whole lot to begin w/ but i wasnt sure. i think ill put the washers in tho bc i dont like the looks of it being so close to those cables and such.

Funny you should mention that...
Today I installed mine, and I had to unhook the bracket for this hosing/piping (refer to pic; bracket bolt is circled, pipe has arrow going to it, background arrow pointing to spot that this hose goes into the firewall) to make it fit. I put a piece of rubber under the strut bar to keep from scratching the metal pipe.
I'm going outside right now to see if my fitment was as tight, but I don't think it was IIRC.

Make sure you have a good 1/2 inch at least from those hoses.

Ahhhh, well I just checked, and it isn't REALLY tight, but the throttle cables are touching mine, and that evap cannister doesn't have a lot of room either. So get some washers?

the a/c hose can be bent out of the way fine. almost all FSTB have that problem. the throttle cables and evap can be moved slightly but not enough for that bar. seriously contact that seller and get the correct bar.

Well, I went out and bought washers, and when installing them, 4 out of the 6 torqued correctly, but then when I got to the other two, it felt like the bolt stripped. One won't even unscrew now, either. But I do have more clearance now...

OK, just checked the bars that Racing Dimension sells on eBay.
It looks like you bought the $12 straight JDM bar. (Or they sent this one to you by mistake.)
They also sell another model with the bends at the ends for $19.
You should see if you can exchange what you have for the other model. It will give you more clearance room.

They don't feel loose, or untorqued, though. I had my torque wrench set at 32 ft-lb and it just felt as if they had gotten to a certain torque setting (probably around upper 20-low 30 ft-lb), and can't tighten anymore. They don't spin without resistance, they just don't tighten. Nor loosen for that matter. After driving like this a couple of days, and constantly checking to see if this is causing any trouble, I figure that I'm ok to drive like this (car feels solid), and the problem will come when I want to install my suspension, which looks like it won't happen before I go to college.
In response to the bar fitting correctly, I paid $4.95 plus shipping for this bar, so I never thought that it would fit 100%. However, I don't think my problem came because of the strut bar modification (washers), it kinda just happened, and I don't believe that it was the bar's fault that 2 of the nuts are now stuck.
