SuperCharger Prices...

Can people post what they paid for their SC on the Max's? Make sure you specify with or without install.
Also, has anyone ever setup a group buy for these here? I was looking through a thread that asked about the Camry vs. Maxima and it got me curious. So I did some research on TRD and www.camryman.org. They just ended a group buy for a TRD SuperCharger for the 3.0 V6 Camry. The MSRP was $3374 and the group buy as between $2150 to $2250 depending on the whether it was a Solara or Camry. They ended up getting 21 people to do that group buy.

$4000? Geez...that's expensive. And that's not including install. I'm guessing the supercharger with install, plus a few guages, maybe $5000? Wow. I just wish we have an alternative to Stillen. If only Jackson Racing would make a supercharger for us.

Stillen has a Maxima day coming up in June... I was thinking of driving there with another Maxima buddy... (about 7-8 hours drive probably if we take it easy.) Maybe I can ask them directly... ![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
what can make the s/c cost so much more than the one from trd for the camry/solara/sienna? oh well... if it was that price, you'd see it on my car already![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I was thinking of getting a supercharger, but with Stealin, the price keeps going up. I'm not so sure now. Nitrous looks like a better route to go. Darn Stillen, the supercharger was already expensive as it was. Now, with the price increase, it's insane.

The price is the lowest ever!
Were do you guys get your info?
I bought my SC 2 months ago and paid $3300 for it+ I opted for a Blitz BOV{Super sound one} which cost me a addition $149. The install was free did not cost me a single penny{Just 40 grueling hours and a pint of blood}.
About having a Group deal, it is not possible for multiple reasons which I am not going to get into. I tried setting up a group deal and Stillen said no way, it's not possible, so I asked what if me and a friend order a SC at the same time, Stillen said they could drop the price down to $3250 per kit, but that was the best deal possible. BTW you probably won't get a deal as good as mine{$3300}, I only got that price becuase I am really cool with my salesman Dean{really cool guy}.
Happy boosting!!

The quote will be good for a lot longer then 7 days, they just say that mumbo jumbo to get you to buy it ASAP.

3300$ is really good price. as far as group deals, that's possible, especially when u are talking about spending 33k. stillen will probably give you guyz a good price, if more than 3 people buy it. Ill help if enough people want it.
actually stillen do have competition, wolf just made a new turbo charger, but its not as fast as stillen's claimed be to 5.7 compare to stillen's 5.3 and cost around the same.

....and then there's those poor sorry souls of us who must register our cars in california...
meaning, we need CARB certification as it's a pain in the butt to remove the SC every other year to do a smog check![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
not to be a complainer, but most smog check places around me make me remove my jwt intake and put back in my stock ari box before I smog... good thing that's only a 30 minute job (15 minutes to find where i put the darn thing!)
i've heard jwt was working on a turbo since i talked to them back in '96/97... however, i don't think they've proceeded too far since then... jwt makes good products, but I hope that they'll CARB certify this one if they decide to sell it...
even though the output isn't as much as say a $3300 SC, I'd say a $2000-$2500 non-intercooled turbo kit would be a hot seller as the max has decent bottom end and and just seems to gasp on the top...
they should be able to sell the turbo for less. as reference, on a '91 Miata, Greddy sells a turbo kit for it for around $1800 and some places can get it for around $1200-$1400. this is for the complete kit including manifold, turbo, etc... then there's the jackson racing/sebring SC kit that runs around $2300. both push similar psi and both are non-intercooled and both are CARB certified for smog checks.
LucentAuto... just as a ball park, what kind pricing do you think you could do for the SC if there's like 10 takers?

Re: Stillen SC
Got my SC used. Price was $1800 just for the kit. I did have to get a new fuel pump which costed around $250. Installed with the tranny cooler and VB upgrade- the total cost came out to around $3200. Not bad for more power. That is the best way to go- get them used.

hey Vmok
both the Miata kit and Jackson racing kit are simplier and prolly cheaper to design. Although i dont doubt that cuase its Stillen they up the price. the TRD kits are priced pretty good and their quality/fitment is good. those kits are simplier plus there are no fuel upgrades needed so that makes the kit cheaper...maybe someday another manufacter will make a roots/eaton blower for the Max, that might drive Stillen prices down a bit.
