Car's not starting! Help Plz

Since a few days, I noticed that the car hesitated more and more after each start but I couldn't bring it to the garage so now, it ain't starting at all. I tried boosting it but it was useless. When I put the key in the ignition, everything seems fine:lil bip sound, dash lights on but when I try to turn the key, nothing. I don't even hear the car trying to strarting, all I hear is a lil tick sound and then nothing. What could be wrong?

Beat your starter with a hammer once or twice. : You most likely need a starter. Try the beating and then post back ...

ignition switch. Try beating so you'll know for sure if it is or isnt.

The quality of remanufactured starters it seems is a bit hit or miss.

You may need to replace it. They usually come with a decent warranty. Still have your receipt?

one word of warning ..... the Maxima uses a PMG gear reduction starter. Hitting the starter.... may free it to start but can also break the magnet that makes the starter motor work..... don't do it. Very simple to test, unplug the signal wire to the starter. (follow the small wire from the starter to the gray connector) Use a test light to connect the connector from the harness to ground and have some one turn the ing switch.... light comes on... failed starter. If the light does not come on ... more than likely the ing switch has failed... You can test the switch with a test light ... same idea as the starter

If he hears the click from the relays then its not his ignition switch... it the starter.

But then again you never know....

I got it done at a garage near my house so not sure if they have warranty....g2g check tomorrow, thx for the replies guys.

P.S. I decided to leave this car to my bro and I recently bought a paseo 92 man trans to practice my stick driving before buying a g35 coupe or something like that in 2 or 3 years. So I will probably come see here less. I spent more than 2 years here and learned a lot but I had to make some change in my life and that's only the beginning!
Hehe C ya guys

get a wiring diagram, and a volt ohm meter, go to the ignition switch and check for continuity from the switch to the starter relay while slowly turning the ignition to the start position. if its bad replace the switch
