the stealership
the stealership
okay so, last monday i brought my max to the dealership for some work to be done. i needed to get my cluster replaced so i just took it there to get fluid changes, some seatbelt repairs, and to fix my drivers side rear window. i also told them to give me an estimate on all the other **** wrong with the car. on tuesday afternoon i talk to them, guy says that everything would cost $3,040.95. i tell them to just do the fluids, teh window and the cluster.
so, then on thursday i go to pick it up, all the work done. dad pays. it costs $1,003 and some change. i get in the car, start to drive away, tach is sitting at zero, just like when i brought it in. so i get out and walk back to the guy, tell him its ****ed, he looks all like "wha???" stupid bastard. and then they keep it to check it out again friday. so then friday i get a call, the tach is no good so we have to order another, i say w/e im picking the car back up and you can fix it after the part comes in, he says he'll call when the part comes in on tuesday, its wednesday no call. on thursday i ordered a lower right control arm and left outer tie rod. parts $290 with tax. about $70 for the tie rod, $200 for the control arm. my uncle (honda mechanic) puts them on in about 45 minutes. so about $310 total including gas to get there and back. the stealership estimated $176 for the tie rod, and 415 for the control arm. wtf is that??? So i was like **** nissan, but there are some things that you kind of need to do there, like a cluster, they have to wind it for you and ****. but from now on im reading the stickies and doing **** with my uncle.
oh and when i talk to that stealership dude im going to tell them to do free labor on an engine mount since they have inconviened me so much over the past week

Good luck getting them to do anything for free. My suggestion is to avoid the stealership at all costs, unless its something that no one else can handle. Once a car is off warranty, there should be virtually no reason to go back to the stealer.
I don't know where you paid 200 bucks for the control arm - but you can get them for 80 bucks off ebay all day (including a new ball joint and bushings). You can also get tie rod ends (both sides for 20-30 bucks.
Yup, you're getting
all over the place. Before repairs, do some research. And they are DEFINATELY not going to buy the "you inconvenienced me" sob story. The motor mount is something that can be done by your uncle.

wow they raped you bad.
Getting them to do work free will take a lot of hard work, basically if they didnt violate some sort of law then they will no do the work free, and you might as well save the time and energy. Sad story and an expensive lesson learned. If only you had posted here first before taking it to the dealership damn . . .

thats exactly how you do it,
"Hey while we were chaning your oil we saw you clutch needs replacing it will be about $1200 and we started already you can come pick it up in the morning."

Yea, the dealership is a POS. I go in there for a tune-up and safety check. Now $2000 of work had to be done. About $600 or $700 worth of the brake system. They didn't even fix the brakes, they made them worse! I'm serious, the pedal was screwed up and it wouldn't stop fast. And to top it all off, they put in cheap-o pads in. I went to a brake place near my house. They corrected the problem the dealer cause. Middletown Nissan can suck my left nut. They focus on the brakes when my shocks and springs are about to kill me...

again -->
Check the website above --> $27 tie rod. I'm not a Honda or any kind of mechanic and I can do the same in that amount of time.. try one day, it's actually quite fun.BTW Did you get an alignment after all this?

OBDII what? LCA's are new off ebay
Saves you a couple of hundred, I know it's not your money, so ... why the post then since you're not exactly set on saving money since it's not yours?.. ? Don't go back, lesson learned, should've never gone in the first palce. It's partially if not all your fault since you did take it to them and ask them to fix everything THEY thought was wrong ... This is old news, we all know the dealership sucks ..

That way i know what is broken for free, and can fix it myself.
