You are the reason I don't come on the 4th gen forum anymore. What's the big deal if he thinks something that may OR may not be right? You used to think this way too, but now you're an a-hole, get over yourself and you're 60k mile '95 maxima.

I believe rmurdoch is right on the speed issue. As the years increased the emissions equipment became more and more restrictive. Also I *think* for the 97-99 they added more safety equipment which raised the curb weight. Of course we're debating over a two tenths of second not to mention probably a different driver. The maxima is not a race car anyway; it's a decent looking grocery hauler with a nice engine in it.

Not to mention 16" wheels that are heavier than 15" sawblades, side airbags, power front seats for the driver and passenger, wider tires etc.

I merely chimed in on the 99 Maxima debate, I did not initiate it, nor was I being aggressive. And if I am the reason you don't come on the 4th Gen forum anymore than you do have problems, don't you. Quit picking on me!

And what's wrong with having a 59K Maxima; at least I keep it meticulous and well maintained.

Since i have the car in South Dakota, can i buy a fed spec ypipe and that would take care of the precat. And for the intake swirls, would CIA take care of that as well? Just wondering because now that the car doesn't have to pass restrictions.

Jeezus this post has gone crazy. I have read any of these posts since about post 15 yesterday.

Been out driving my new car! I abolutely love it and my 5spd skills are now average, can start on hills and never stalling or any of that. Ive put on 200 miles already and owned it 48 hours.

Thanks to all those who congratulated me on the car, and to rmurdoch for keeping the thread alive by pissing off others.

No problem, Rotncarcas, any time, lol! I hope I didn't p!ss you off as I didn't intend to and if I p!ssed off some others, then they don't have very thick skin. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

You've got a nice clean car there.

Nice find! Looks like a good, clean car and the mileage is certainly right. I'm not sure if its an SE or a GXE with a spoiler. Does it have foglights and are the dashboard guages white in the day time?

The bigger you go, the slower you are. I'm sticking to 15s. IMO on 4th gens don't go above 17s. 18s on 5th gens.

Just to en-lighten on something.. 95-96 maximas are faster than 97-99 STOCK FOR STOCK. Reasons:

1).95-96 have a less crash rating compaired to 97-99 because they have re-enforced front/rear ends.

2). 95 maximas have less emissions controls to worry about unlike 96-99 especially 99.

3). 95 maximas didn't have the "SILL" as they called it for better head-on protection. It was a bar that helps keep the engine away from the passenger cabin.

4). 5 speed maximas are a almost .5 tenths to a second faster than automatic.
---------------
Reasons given above are 100% true. If 97-99 maximas have a better crash result due to re-enforcing the frame wouldn't that wiegh more? how about more emissions controls? Wouldn't that away from performance. Common man, you ran your mouth like you knew it all, now your facing getting ban for a while for not thinking. Chillax a bit it's just the internet.

I think you meant to say that 5-speeds are faster, rather than slower, than automatics.

Yeah all I have on my mind is the steelies I have on the car right now. They are the nasty gxe 15" hub caps. I already owe 3500 on the car, and not sure if I am ready to buy new tires AND wheels, that gets pretty spendy fast.

Im thinking ill look around for a set of these

Take your time and don't overextend yourself. Look after the cheap fixes/cheap mods first and the rest will take care of itself in due course.
