Short Ram Intake
Short Ram Intake
I just got a short ram intake. It didn't come with any instructions. I can get my stock airbox off easy enough but I'm just a bit confused as to the parts that came with my setup.
The main intake tube in my short ram kit has 3 smaller tubes coming off of it. Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to hook up to these side tubes?
Lastly, the kit also came with a couple brackets (which I'm thinking will become obvious where to place them when I get the stock box out), and two short rubber sections of tubing. One section of tubing is a bit larger than the main intake tube and the other section is smaller in diameter than the intake tube and tapered (i.e., one end is larger diameter than the other end). I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with these sections of rubber tubing. Can anyone give me some direction?
The cone filter that came with my kit is threaded on one end but I see no other threaded connection to screw it into. I already ordered a K&N filter as a replacement.
Thanks.

Make sure that your pipe with all the lilttle pipes coming off of it go on first to the trottle body useing a rubber grommet. this pipe is for your vacum lines and IAT sensor. next is you MAFS, make sure that the air flow arrow is going toward the engine, connect it to your pipe with all the little pipes. next is your air filter it should fit directly on your MAFS (Black Box). Make sure that the metal clamps are tight. hope this come in handy.
One minor but very important detail that I wasn't informed of is that I needed the adapter plate to get the cone filter onto the MAF. Did everyone on earth get the kit that came with the plate adapter except me?
You have no idea how dis-spiriting it is to get to the final step of the installation only to find out that you can't finish. I was going to put the stock airbox back on when I just grabbed some duct tape and rigged it for now.

Well I didn't have an adapter for mine, of course i didn't use the filter supplied I bought a K&N, you can go to K&N.com and bulid a filter for you application. (its preaty cool.)
no i had an adaptor it looks like a square, with an circle opening for the air flow. it bolts to your MAFS and your filter on to that. if you kit didn't come with one....one word EBAY
ha the same thing happened to me.just finishing up the install and boom i was like where the hell is the rest at?
so i put the stock one back on and email the seller he sends the plate and the next thing i see on email for sell are just the adaptor plate's for $3.50 . i saw some on there a few days ago if you still need them.
