Anyone else have this prob? It sounds like shiet when I get on the throttle. It doesn't sound "clean" at all. And it's not BITC sound. It's different.

No digital camera with me to record the sound tho.........

You probably have a leak - did you replace all the gaskets?

Some Y-pipes come with three bung holes for oxygen sensors, but I think your Max only has two -- meaning, you've got an open bung hole. Plug it with an 18mm 1/2" bolt, a worn-out oxygen sensor, or a spark plug.

The other possibility is that the gaskets between the pipe fittings don't allow for a tight seal.

yea, all the gaskets were replaced I believe. I gave them to my mechanic -- I didn't do the work/installation.

I especially hear the sound while on the road, along it is still there when I rev I believe.

Hmm, link doesn't work for me.

no. i received a fed spec pipe. no extra bung hole to deal with.

That sucks if the mechanic screwed up the gasket installation....

I still say you have a leak (or a bad weld/join/seam/hole in the y-pipe itself).

Ok, I've come up with a different comparison...

a rattlesnake's rattle. lol That's the best sound I can equate it to. I looked under the car the other day. Everything is A-ok. Firm and secure.

Could it be the fact that the mechanic had to cut and weld a section of the y-pipe in order to make it fit? Maybe that's the culprit?
