Back end kicks out

I notice now that when I got over bumps sometime that my back end will kick out a little. I know I need new shocks soon but I wasn't sure if that was the reason why. What eles could it be?

Same thing has been happening to me for a while. STAY OFF THE HIGHWAY. Anyway, it's because my rear driver's side shock is leaking. I doubt a sway bar would fix the problem. Replace your struts or upgrade. I'll be getting coilovers within a few weeks. Hope this helps

If you're getting a lot of snap oversteer, a sway bar would make things worse. It definetely sounds like your struts are just worn out.

Dont want to make a stiff rear stiffer with a sway bar.

I have the same problem and it is more than a little kick out. Are you saying to replace all ....front and rear struts?

I had the same "kick out" feeling when my rear struts were blown. Installed Illuminas and S-techs. Problem solved, well, as solved as its gonna get.

i get the same thing...whenever i'm on the highway on a curve and hit a bump, my rear kind of does a fishtail. I don't think its the struts, I think it happens because of our multi-beam suspension...anyway, I remember a thread similar to this and it was said that a fstb would get rid of the problem. I'll see if I can dig it up

Ur multi-beam suspension is starting to give out. Lift the car and check out the coil springs the shocks and the Pan-Hard bar, its the thing that looks like a pan taht goes diagonal from the bar to the frame up top. ****Teacher told me that the bushings when worn will cause it to somewhat kick the back end out***** I went to UTI.

It's the struts. My Stanza did that, until I replaced them.

It will kick out a bit due to torque. Happens to me regularly when I hit a specific bump on a corner with a bit of speed.

Doesn't a sway bar increase the chance of rear end kick outs?

Would shocks like this: http://www.zippyvideos.com/108984619655225.html make the back end kick out?

You guys can't avoid it unless you just settle for stock springs/shocks. The rear beam suspension won't allow each wheel to act independantly of each other. No way around it. Bumpy roads will make the rear end skitter on these things. The again, one should't be doing crazy stuff on bumpy roads anyway

My head must be in the gutter, but it looks like you're making sweet sweet love to your max. As you should, you should love your Max and show it affection.

I'm running stock suspension. I'm hearing noises all over. I'm going to drop it soon anyway...

I know I love my Maxima so much. I had another post with that video. I told people it looked like I was humping my car. But, nobody seemed to wasnt to see it.

Black Maxima lemme know how new setup works for you.. i've noticed that my max has been having a bit of a mind of its own when on the highway (fast lane 70-80mph) and the road becomes a little twisty..

But just yesterday i went for a ride with my friend in his 430CLK vs some 330 beemer and the same twisties i go over on my car at 70mph or so (driving casually) felt like a breeze at 80+mph in his while going against the beemer.

In no way am i saying my stock suspension 8 year old car should be handling like a benz.. but it definitly shouldn't have its *** leaning into the other lane the way it does..

Yea talk about a shytty suspension. Having a 3 people in your back seat going down the highway seems like you have 10" wheels in the rear and 30" wheels in the front. And I bottom out constantly.
