what are you looking to do? put the actual detector in the dash or just permenatley connect the plug to your cig lighter socket?

instead of going all the way through your dash to the cig lighter, why not wire it into the cig lighter fuse? fuse box is much easier to get to.

in what way is the fuse box easier to get to than the cig lighter? the lighter is just a straight shot down, the box is all the way across the dash and then down. well, here, maybe this will hellp.... im going to position my detector in the dead center of my windshield and run the power wire down through the airvents by the windshield.

either way, i already foudn what i needed help with...but.... now do any of you know a constant power source inside the car that always has power when the car is off?

yup, figured that out the hard way, 4 times... but oh well.

FINAL VERDICT/ACCOMPLISHMENT:
-Hardwired Radar Detector
-Constant Power source to cigarette lighter.

now i just have to redo the LED power wire... ****...
