Still Miss Firing

I replaced my valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube gaskets wed. and im still missing. If there is oil in the wells how long until it stops missing or is something else the problem. Also have tried new spark plug and a brand new coil.

What codes are you getting (if any)?

If its just one cylinder that is misfiring, then you might have a bad injector there.

I assume you used NGK plugs (platinum or copper).

you probally have more than one misfire. Check your ecu for codes . Also Are your spark plugs gapped correctly ? . We need a bit more info

Measured gap had NGK coppers in changed to iridium but put a copper back into cylinder 1. Codes say Random missfire detected which is a sleeper sometimes and then the CEL is Cylinder 1 miss

and i also get the stupid pup pup pup pup sound from my exaust which im assuming is the miss but its not really any better since the seals. But the engine itself sounds a little better a little smoother

Cylinder 1 is the rear bank... so it would be tedious to check the injector - but I think thats what you need to do...

Did you have oil in the cyl #1 well? thats the plug and coil you swapped I assume.

Get a long screwdriver and use it like a s***hescope to listen to each injector... also get a multimeter and check the resistance of each injector - specs are in the Haynes.

Ya had oil on the sparkplug the first time i checked it bc of the miss. Thats what led me to believe it was those seals. Where are the injector located. I know there aint much room back there on the rear bank lol

The front injectors are right in front of you when you open the engine bay - right behind the rear valve cover on the fuel rail. The rear injectors are under the plenum - you'll have to pull that off to get to them...

Are you sure you replaced the 'right' coil? I replaced a coil only to find out I had the cylinder numbers wrong. Pull your codes.

UGH lol i just did that i hate that stinking thing. Can u explain how by sound ill be able to tell if the injector is working? and the only way to check it with a multimeter is by pulling the plenum right?

I have a similar problem. At first the car shakes at stops and was worse with the ac on. the code eas cylinder 1 misfire so i took it to the dealers to find the cause. they said it was the #1 fuel injector. since the injectors were hard to reach i replaced all the rear injectors, but not the front. the car ran like a brand new car for about20 minutes and then the same shake returned. the next morning the car was hard to start and seemed to be flooding. when i got it started there was grey smoke that smelled like fuel from exust, put put put sound was coming from the mufler, and this has been the problem since. it has those conditions and the shake worsens when the ac is on. when driving you can smell lots of gas smell coming from the exaust. performance seems to worsen after the car reaches normal temp. the code from the ecm says multiple misfire. when it was only cylinder 1 misfire i drove the car but the shake was annoying, now i can't drive the car and it even misfires when the rpm's are low and i'm driving it. does anyone have a clue what's going on, i will appreciate any response, before i take it back to the stealers.

sounds like egr system is failing i would check the egr system im having the same problems but my car starts up fine, just when it gets to operating temp it knocks for a while then stops when it is reved a few times, also it idles rough in park but when in drive it idles ok (engine shaking when in park) then when it was not shaking i put my hand on the egr valve and reved the engine it didnt move it was stuck, so check the egr system not just the valve a bad egr system will make your exhaust smell little smoke in th rear becuase of all the carbon built up. also check your exhaust system, (cat converter) for clogging fuel system every thing with you fuel and ignition ,ect random misfire could be caused by any thing its very difficult to find i havent fixed my problem yet havent had the time
