For the whole year that mine were tinted, I never had any problems with cops until about a month ago when I got hit with speeding, he decided to tack on the tails too, but this was also in south city where the cops got nothin to do. Mine were completely black too. Im sure if they were only slightly tinted cops wouldnt mind.

i have tinted tails, just got em back today. i had stock tail ( 97) just tinted a good bit, they look great. i will have a pic up tomorrow.

oops... i meant that I've been pulled over for other things. no cop has ever even mentioned the taillights

cool I'll probaly try to tint mine this weekend. Atleast tint them slightly and see how i like them if i dont I'll just strip the paint off

^^ that would do nothing except make the red slightly dimmer. the red lense would still be on the outside and that is what you would see.

heres a pic of mine. they look dark in the pic, but they arent that dark. they look really good in person. they are 97 stock tails just tinted with a little black and lots of clear.

Alan, you have seen my car many times when the tails were tinted, what do you need to see more pics for? but just to help ya out I will post a pic you have seen hundres of times.

haha i think i saw you downtown SF on tuesday. i was down by the metrion, about a block maybe 2 up. close to market i think. (i was on vacation with my family and i saw a max that looked alot like yours roll by and was like 'hey i think i recognise that maxima from online!')

A thing of beautie.. Blackout mod is the sickest on the streets IMO. Are you going to take out the chrome molding and the door handles and black those out as well.?

From the outside. you cant do it from the inside or else everything will still be red and amber. I used about 2 thick coats.

I went to all the autozones in my area and even o'reilly's and they all looked at me like i was crazy when i asked for nightshades. Now i found something named nightlites thats supposed to have the same effect as a stop sign. what other place would carry nightshades. I am in Memphis.

i don liek the tinted clear corners, doesnt look good in my opinion, i remember they use to sell these caps for the headlights, that coverred the whole headlight and made it look black

i did this a couple yrs ago... sorry no pics... looked sick, but you have to heat the whole thing in the oven unless you have a heat gun. then you just peel em apart and the reflectors are seperate pieces that come out. spray em down, put em back together, and clean up all the seal that WILL get on the lense (and your kitchen counter). oh BTW, put the lense down if you bake em.

*EDIT* shoulda checked the date first.

Seriously what's the law on taillights... I see those cheap little geo's flying around all the time and they're tinted/smoked stock. I don't see how we could get ticketed for this (mine are tinted too.. for about 3 months now)

Mine are pretty dark. I used niteshades and clear coat. Should show up in my sig otherwise look at my profile
