Whenever I turn the car on after it has been sitting for a bit I get a screech from the belts of the car. I got an especially louder longer screech when I turn the car on with the AC. The 2 belts had recently been changed but I guess the right tension had not been set. Now this only happens when you turn the car on for the first time, once the car is warmed up it won’t do it again. What would be the best way to adjust the tension so the noise goes away?

 

Who installed the belts? If you took it to a shop, take it back and get them to do it properly.

 

It's a little late for that now, I took it back to them at the time and they still didn't fix it. Long story short I can't take it back to them, I really just need to know how to adjust it.

 

Im also having the same prolbem but my belts werent recently replaced, the screech just started suddenly.

same here same problem..belts squeal mad loud at the start..between 0 and 2000 rpms..as i pull away, the screech goes away..i hope i dont need a new belt now lol.
