see what the max psi on the tire is, for a long trip inflate the tire to max and take away maybe 5-6 psi. It's suppsed to be 32psi, which is what nissan says, but that makes the tires look flat, kills gas mileage, and is mostly for comfort.

I keep mine at 35psi all around

The stock psi should be under your armrest cover, but like Dave said, its too low

Your tire pressure should be checked first thing in the morning before the car is driven when the tires are cold. 32 PSI all around should be just fine for your touring tires.

The pressures indicated on the tire's side wall are for the tires maximun load capacity only. That's not necessaraly what your car's tire pressure should be set to. Excessive tire pressure will decrease the tires tread contact patch and can cause it to loose traction faster then if it were inflated to the vehicles specifications.

The steering may "feel" tighter with more tire pressure, only giving you a false sense of better handling.

It also depends on the brand of tire. My ZE512's, the "recommended" pressure from Falken is, 42lbs, max is 50, so it kind of goes along with what that dave kid said.

well just like you, i run about 20 psi. unless im going on vacation. then i fill them up to 35-40 psi. haha j/k i always run 35-40 psi in my falken 451's. but just wondering....why would you only fill them up becasue youre traveling. you should check them once a month at least, and keep them inflated within a pound or two of each other.
