Disconnecting the AC compressor?
Disconnecting the AC compressor?
Hi,, the clutch on my ac compressor went a little while back, it makes this sound of a chain grinding on the floor,, is there anyway to stop this until i can get enough money to replace the compressor or do i have to live witht he sound until it gets fixed.. Could i just unplug a relay or fuse or something? is it that simple....
or is the pulley for my ac connected to something else and turning it off would aftect the other thing it is connected to

As long as you don't turn on the AC (or turn on the defroster), the clutch should stay disengaged. If the screeching is from the pulley (bearing) itself, then you can't do much about that...
you know what, i do have something wrong with my AC compressor also, but my AC still works good and when i turn on my AC, the noise goes away. what do you guys think? is it just the pulley? or the whole AC Compressor?
