Bomz CAI HELP!!

I installed Bomz CAI with K&N filter, what kind of sound would the CAI produce on the left fender when I am not pressingthegas pedal???
I heard sound like leaks from gas stove.
And also my gas milage dropped significantly.
I am sure all the gasket are tightly screwd

is CAI supposed to be burning more gas?????????????
PLEASE HELP!

It shouldn't be that loud. I don't have a CAI, nor have I heard them. But from what I know, it is relitivly louder then the stock system. I would just recheck everything once again to make sure its all good.

About the gas mileage, how have you been driving. Have you been hitting higher RPMs to here your intake? Well if that is true well then that sucks up more gas, so you will be getting less MPG.

Most people on the boards are going to tell you that you should just return to the stock intake so you don't lose any HP. If you want the sound you can just drill/cut holes into the stock airbox. You can find that information in the stickies.

Mine makes this same leak from a gas stove noise when idle, and a faint whistle from ~1500-~2000 rpms at slight throttle.
My gas milage didnt change at all tho... if anything its slightly better...
as far as i know this noise is normal.... all cars with intakes that my friends have seem to make this noise on all types of cars.
Your gas milage probably went down because u get on the gas more to hear the intake, like i did when i first got it on.
Just recheck make sure the clamps are on tight and all hoses are connected well. I like my CAI so this little of noise doesnt bother me... idc what people say i think a CAI is alot better then stock intake.

But for my friend he installed Injen, when he press gas there will be high pitch sound.
So I hope pressing hard on gas to hear the sound is my problem.
I will see another tank of gas to check if thats the casse.
Thanks

And by the way, people who use Bomz,
do you have to switch back to stock when you do smog check?
Thanks

try locating where the hissing is from, if it is coming from the filter check around where the filter connects to the pipe, but you are probably fine, just gettin on it to hear money well spent. And I'm pretty sure you will have to switch to stock to pass the visual portion of the smog test, I know they check for it when I go to test, but I think they are stricter in CA. CAI are offroad use only I believe, not like anyone listens to that warning though

Im pretty sure all intakes make this noise. I've checked a billion times for a leak, i dont have a leak idk where this noise is being made but its there. Like i said before its not just my car, all my friends that have intakes make this noise, its just louder on our car cause of the really long piping. At least thats what i think it is... correct me if i wrong please. Just ignore it, blast the radio... it goes away, or press on the gas pedal and enjoy that sound instead.

yes, most intakes will have this sound since the you have a "mushroom". different mushrooms made by different companies will have different sound. just liek a K&N filter will have a different sound than a $10 pepyboys filter since the K&N supposedly allows more airflow through the filter while still filtering the same amount of dust.

Technically speaking, a CAI is suppose to save you gas. But if the CAI makes u lose HP, then you will be wasting more fuel. Since in order to achieve the performance you had b4 you need to apply more fuel. Also like other orgers stated, you will usually go through more fuel faster than normal since you want to see how well its going to perform......
