Oxygen Sensor

My Max has 171,500 on the clock and so far only one o2 has died. Go get one of those cheapy OBD readers and check the codes. That will tell you the exact reason for the code....and you can clear the out the light also when you are finished.

Also see how your gas mileage is doing. If it's low and you have a lot of miles, then the O2s are worn and you'll see improved gas mileage with new ones
I was getting 15-18MPG and now I'm at 20-23MPG with new ones in the front

I just had the second one go back up front. 99k miles.
A weeee bit OT, but is there anyone reading this that could help me? I'm trying to post a new topic, and it keeps telling me I am unable to. I've emailed the typical admins and I get a canned response (none of which includes that something is messed up). I've emailed specific moderators with no response.

Forget Advanced Auto, they used to back in the day when they were Western Auto, the AA folks don't rent tools, check codes, or do much of anything except the in-car alternator tests.
As for the OBD2 scan tool, the $90.00 Equus tool at Wally World will read codes and re-set ECU lights, good enough.
Had 3 O2 sensors fail w/in 5 year. Nissan sez they could fail due to bad gas!
As for the flaky Nissan O2 sensors, I've had a new one fail w/in weeks of replacement - the next replacement was then done for free.
And new Maximas can have up to 4 O2 sensors... 4 times the pleasure of helping to pay for your Nissan dealers mansion in the suburbs.
