New Hope For Subframe Connectors For 4th Gen Maximas. Who Wants A Set??
both control arms, all the bushings, ball joints, inner tie rods, outter tie rods, stabalizer links, struts, strut mounts, strut bearing, every bushing associated with the struts, wheel bearings, axles, are new.
Goddammit. It's funny how they dissed WS for not knowing how to run a business and now they're starting to do the same thing.
But don't give up just yet. It might truly be a very busy time for them. Keep in mind that they don't realize how many Max owners will end up buying their SFCs so it's not a concrete business project for them yet. Hence, if they're busy with stuff that's actually making them money now, obviously they're going to do that first. Keep on him and remind him how much trouble you've gone to.

could someone send me some detailed pics of the schematic of this device? honestly this **** is basically tube steel. Not real hard for a hobbyist to construct one of these, screw this waiting **** im making my own. So anyone with a schematic, *please* PM it to me
good pics of one that someone has already made would be just fine, doesnt have to be a blueprint

nope.. no word from this other vendor.. i have given up on him.. i tried my best to basically "hand this guy" a large sum of money for a product in demand. i shouldnt have to beg, he would have gotten more out of it then i would have..
anyway.. i hate to say this, but warpspeed said they had kits ready for shipment. (its about f-ckin time), and i felt i had no other choice at this point but to order from them. they actually arrived here yesterday, but not without the usual b.s. and delays from warpspeed's side.
first i got an email from dallas saying he would be shipping some friday. i called thrusday, and his sister had no idea what i was talking about, and told me the standard response of " we will be working on them". i told her about the email and she said should would call and ask, and call me back later that day. of course, i didnt get a return call that day.
so friday, i call AGAIN early in the day, and was told "yes we're shipping them today" so i gave my credit card info, phone number ect. , and was told, ill be recieving an email with a tracking number today. got home from work, no email. checked saturday, no email. checked sunday.. no email..
i called them again monday. the excuse i got was " we ran your credit card through and it was declined". my response was " how is that possible?".. i have a $10,000 limit on that card, a balance of less than $1,000, and a credit score of 798. there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR ANY CREDIT CARD OF MINE TO BE DECLINED..
so i made her read me all the info they "tried to process" to see if the info was incorrect. it was all correct. so i told them, " im gonna call citibank cause i want to know why it was declined, ill call u rite back". i call citibank, ask them why the transaction was declined, and i was told " there was never any transaction processed, nothing was declined on your card"
so i call back warpspeed, tell them what they told me. she says " oh ill have to try and get in touch with him, and see if he can try it again".. i said listen, do me a favor, is there any way i can speak to whoever is suppose to process my card directly cause this is getting out of hand now.. your turning a 5 minute process into a week long adventure. i dont want to sit here for another 3 days wondering what the outcome is... she says is a confused tone " umm .. how about if i call him now, and ask if he can do it and ill call you rite back this time".. i sat there thinking to myself ( wow what a novel idea).. so finally, by some grace of god, my credit card was approved this time, and was told ill email you the tracking number, its being shipped today.. this time, i actually got the tracking number by only having to call back ONE more time...
i hate the fact i gave these people my money.. but at this point what choices do i have..
OK, thanks for the update Stuntin. I'm thinking I might make a road trip to Warpspeed next spring to have them install this and avoid shipping questions. They seem knowledgeable and competent, as Dave B attested, but they are totally incompetent in running their business. Of course, if I drive down there, I run the risk of them not having any in stock or not being around, even if I call 1,000 times.
Have you taken a look at the SFCs? Any idea what they "improved" since the original version?

stage one and stage 2 , with shipping comes to $230. its a flat rate for shipping of $30. stage one is $125, stage 2 is $75.
i have'nt unpackaged the sfc kit, so its still wrapped up in shrink wrap. from the way things look, stage one looks to be the same, and it seems that instead of stage 2 being tubular bars, its just small square peices of metal. a little flimsy looking if you ask me..
im dropping the car off with a place thats going to install it for me wednesday nite, so he has it there for early thursday morning. ill give you guys a review of it when i have it installed.

ok i will... ill try and take some of them off the car.. i cant guarantee that i can get pics of them once there installed. im leaving my car with this guy the entire day, and if hes busy when i goto pick it up, i cant exactly ask him to take another car off a lift so i can take some pictures.. (and im not about to leave a digital camera with them)
well the sfc are finally installed.. sorry guys i dont have pics for you.. the first guy that was suppose to install them for me backed out last minute after making me wait almost a week. it took me about 2 days to find another guy to do them. the reason for no pics is becuase he did the work off of jackstands, and there really isnt anyway to get pics of them for you.. at any rate, im expecting a stage 2 ltb from another memeber soon. im going to ask one of the mechanics i use to throw it on for me. when he has the car up on a lift i will take pics of you still want them. for all those wondering, the stage one is exactly the same. the only difference is stage 2, which instead of being tublar, is now made out of small 1/2 square bars.
anyway, now for the good news.. the difference these made in my car is night and day. i drive my car alot, and i can notice every slight change. when i got my illumina's installed, i noticed a difference as soon as i sat in it, before i even started it. when i first sat in the car after the sfc install, i pulled the car up slowly about 20 feet on the uneven pavement in front of the guys shop and noticed a difference already.
the car feels very solid when driven now. its the kind of feeling you get when you drive a new car. very solid cabin, the only thing that moves is the suspension. the difference over potholes and uneven pavement is unreal. intead of the car crashing into every slight defect in the road, now it just rolls over them in a controled manner. im no longer getting thrown around in the seat over bad bumps either. the ride is much more comfortable.
the handleing is very improved as well. going around a turn the car sits flat and even with very little body roll. lets say if you were to make a hard right turn. under normal conditions, the car would dip down on the left side ALOT in the fornt, and a little in the rear. now it'll dip to the left sightly, and evenly between front and rear. thats because the front and rear suspension now act together instead of seperatly.
the majority of squeaks and rattles have disappated. a slight few remian, but its nothing i cant deal with compared to what i had.
i'll have to drive the car a little more to be sure, but it almost feels like the shimmy i had in my steering wheel has gotten better. i drove the car around the other night on the highway to get a feeling for it and thats the impression i got so far. it actually feels like the shimmy is coming from the rear a little more.. i can feel the vibration start out in my seat, and then i as i climb in speed i notice it in my steering wheel.. i have a feeling when i change my rear rotors it might help alot. we shall see..
i know my car probably had alot more flex in it than most other peoples do. being drivin around nyc on a stiff suspension with big rims for a few years definately took its toll on my car. but in my case, long story short.. best bang for the buck, huge difference in my car.

I think it is a shame that this other business didn't help us out, but I want one of these things so bad I am willing to buy from Warpseed, especially after your testimonial, Suntin'. I hope Warpseed will have enough for eveyone!

Doing it on jackstands is not ideal but if your doors still close fine I wouldn't worry about it.

I've known this for months...I just did a Google search on a fragment of the quote that Stuntin' posted, but I didn't want to spoil it because I knew he wanted it to be hush-hush.

yes this is correct.. and i do appreciate you not making it known b4 hand. the last thing i needed was 5 people emailing this guy trying to work on the same project. the guy wouldnt know who to talk to, and what was going on. steve never got back to me, i only had the loaner car for a few weeks. i was basically just waiting for him to say "come here saturday", but that never happened.

#2- the installer did not have a 4 post lift
instead what he did was place the jackstands under the 4 suspension points, as if it were sitting on its wheels. i did ask about if the ground wasnt perfectly level, and he explained that even on a 4 post lift, there is no guarantee its level either. the lift can be installed on unlevel ground, the cables could have strectched more on one side, and so on. he said the differences are so minute that it will not make any difference.
furthermore, he broke out diplomas, and pictures of all the different race cars hes built and raced. he also stated he has a " five million dollar " education and will challange anyone else's knowledge in this field. ive used this guy b4 for other things too, so i knew he was good b4 i even went there. trust me he knows what hes doing.
anyway- if anyone needs any type of welding done in the nyc area this is the guy to goto. the name of the shop is Whitey's Welding and is located on Andros Ave in Staten Island NY. right off of Port Richomd Ave. OH - something else i should add about this guy.. if you have any rims that are bent, he can fix them. he charges $50 a rim, no matter how many bends there are. its best if the bend is on the inside of the rim, otherwise you will have to get area it was repaired re-finished also. if you even have a chuck of the lip of the rim missing, he can fix it. his phone number is 718-727-9224. hes fixed a bunch of them for me in the past.
since i throwing plugs out there i should mention this one too:
if you have problems with your alignment and nobody seems to able to get your car to drive straight i must insist you use this guy before you start dumping all sorts of money into changing parts. i heard for over a year that something in the front of my car was bent and that why it wouldnt drive straight. i think i have found the only man on the face of the earth that knows how to use an alignment machine precisely.
the name of the shop is SOUTH SIDE. located on forest ave in staten island ny. the phone number is 718-448-1581 and the guys name is paul.
right next door to him is SOUNDSATION this is the best guy for installs of stereo eqipiment and alarms. he warranties the equipment he sells for 3 years himself, instead of these other places that tell you " we have to take it out and ship it out for repairs " . with him, if it stops working, you pull your car in, and he repaces it. no questions asked, no bullsh-t.. ive been using him for years and will not allow ANY OTHER PERSON to even touch my car. the OWNERS name is Lambros. he's the man to see about stereo's .
That's awesome that you guys can find people like that. Down here, Alabama, it's the sticks man. I've grown up here and I've always gotten funny looks when I ask for anything more than a rotate and balace, lol. Guess I've yet to come across the right person/people.
Ignorance is bliss when it comes to this car. I like it, but dayum, there are so many tweaks to make it solid. The alignment for example - factory toe in in the rear ...wtf? I'm sure there are many other problem with other cars. Hey, I haven't had any engine probs yet. I can live with some semi minor chassis/susp mods. Thanks for this forum which has helped out tremendously.
Earlier in this post someone spoke of a shimmy. While it's sort of off topic, handling and ride quality are far more important to me than anything else about my cars. Since I've had the same problem, here are some possibilities other than wheel balance/flat spots or warped rotors/binding calipers. Blown strut(s), alignment (even to spec? - rear), wheel bearings, tie rods (ends), lower control arm, strut bearing?, the list goes on. Here's a good link to a LCA post: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=391391. Cheers

you cant.. you basically need to have the car up on a lift, in a fabrication shop, and walk back and forth to the pipe bending machine.. it needs to be cutsom fitted, and then re-produced. thats why its been such a problem to find another vendor..
Stuntin' 101, After reading a lot of what you wrote in these threads, and all the bs and lies that you put up with, I just have to applaud you for the persistant effort you put forth to get what you wanted!
Holy shii* the junk you put up with from these people. It sounds like you are a pioneer with a mission. Anyways, props to you my friend!

i dont know what it is, but evrything i try and get done turns into a huge project. you should see what im going through trying to close on my house.. its been going on for 3 months now..
on another note. just about all the "Major of what should have been Minor" things ive tried to fix have been done. the only thing im still chasing is the slight wheel shimmy i still have in my steering wheel. ive changed almost everything in the front end, put the stock wheels back on to eliminate the possibilities of it being the rims/tires/hubcentric rings, and its still there. funny thing is, now that the sfc have been installed, i can feel a shimmy in the rear of the car at about 65. when i climb up to 70, i can start to notice it in my steering wheel. every mechanic i ever talked to says a shimmy in the rear end will not be felt in the wheel.. i think its gonna be pretty funny if my shimmy goes away after i change my rear rotors.
