How do you know when you have a bad coil pack? Does the ecu throw a code? If so, does it tell you which one? Or is this something you have to figure out yourself? Just curious.

Misfire, hesistation, stalling, surging, lack of throttle response... all possible symptoms of bad coil(s).

You may get a misfire CEL.

If the coil pack is completely dead then it'll throw a code, but if it's still dying then it won't throw a code until it's completely dead lol

Have an intersting way in detecting which coil is bad(missing). I will have to wait until I have 15 post and I will make a thread. It will be easier to find in a search that way.

In five minutes I found the bad coil and replaced it and so far it has not missed or hesitated once. It's been 3 days and believe me I have driven enough to know.
