Air filter Help...(aftermarket)

Air filter Help...(aftermarket)
Hi all,
When I bought my 97 Max SE, the prior owner removed the stock air box/cleaner setup and installed an after market one.
The problem is, the filter seems to be in bad shape-- and I can't tell what brand of after market air cleaner this thing is. I have attached a few pics, does anyone recognize it? And if so-- what brand is it?
The current filter is pretty trashed, I can see daylight through parts of it (filter material totally gone). Not cool... I'd like to order a replacement for sure but want to make sure it will fit.

Thanks all....

you might want to consider reverting to a stock airbox -- it performs better than the aftermarket types. you can use whatever filter you like so long as fits on the tube.

Yeah, I'd like to go back to the stock airbox, I will have to see if I can find something like that in a junk yard. As for the current setup, that is exactly the problem-- I can't find a filter that fits this big opening. All the standard ones have like a 3-4" opening on the end-- this one is giant on the end. The numbers on the sticker are partially worn off (if you see the sticker in the one photo you will see what I mean). Thanks to anyone who might be able to help identify this thing...

That's a jwt with the velocity stack. It's a good filter. With that setup, most likely you still are running the stock mid-pipe, which is the most important thing. The stock box is fine, but I would opt for another jwt pop charger like the previous owner. It's a good setup.

judging by the support bracket, its stillen. judging by the air filter its JWT. look on the back side of the MAF adapter/velocity stack to see what brand it ist. stillens are marked with their logo. either way they are the same size adapters.
anyhow, you can go to K&N.com and look up a filter by size. I found 3 when I did a search not to long ago.

Thanks everyone, I ordered a JWT replacement filter (looks just like this one from the photo), it was $50 from www.trademotion.com. Thanks for all the help...

Here is the one I bought:

It's the geniune JWT replacement filter. If there is a $10 recharge kit somewhere that fits this setup-- I guess I'm an idiot then because I couldn't find it.
Hopefully this is a quality replacement that will last quite a while. Like I said earlier, the one I have now has areas where the filter material is totally gone (can see daylight through spots of it, very bad).
Later all...

How is it possible for that stock P.O.S to perform better than, lets say, an injen cool air intake?

stock box chokes on top end performance, wai or cai is better for highway speeds where as stock box or hacked box is good for low end and everyday driving. there is more tq on the low end with stock box but more tq on the highend wiht cai or wai. they both have trade offs
