What am I smoking?
I've had a few people tell me that Im puffing a little smoke on take off...I let my friend drive my car around while I followed and I didn't see anything, so I didn't think anything of it. I had a couple more people tell me about it over the weeks, but yet again I didn't think anything of it because I recently seafoamed. Well I changed my oil and put some Rislone in (I hate how Nissan valves chatter) and didn't hear anything else about it. Well tonight I was racing my friends 4.6 stang, after I hit 2nd gear I coincidentally looked in my rear view and saw all kinds of dust or debree behind me. I pulled over after we got finished and had him rev the **** out of my car while I watched. I then had him launch it just as I had and wind it out through 2nd, still nothing. I got back in and launched and he watched and he said he saw a puff of black smoke as I launched, and then another puff as I hit second. He said it looked like fuel smoke, like Im running rich. He ran behind me and smelled no oil, so I don't know whats going on.
My a/f gauge is 2 bars rich if I give it more than 60-70% throttle. Im also running a stock fuel system. What is the deal here? This warpspeed highflow cat is burnt out I think, smells once in a while and Im pulling a o2 circuit malfunction code. I thought at first the o2 circuit code was behing triggered because of my KS, but I put in a 470k resistor, used my obdII scanner to try and erase them, the only one that wouldn't take was the o2 circuit code. I reset the ECU and they all went away (470k resistor) and then I pulled an EVAP system related code and the same o2 code. What in the HELL is the deal? The Warpspeed system is 2.5'' with an OBX turboback muffler.
Anyone know what the hell is going on? No FMU, no ecu piggyback box or anything. Can someone point me in the right direction? Am I running rich or is there a problem I should address before I boost this Max?

If you're racing/gunning it, it will put out a little smoke, the Rislone may add to the cook off. Are you losing any oil? Is the level going down quicker than it used to? The only other thing I can think off is somehow water getting in the system by way of head gasket. You could pull plugs and check for moisture.

slight black smoke is normal when you hit into boost. nothing to be too alarmed about. if it was white or blue then you should be worried. as far as the o2 code, i kept pulling that code when i changed my cat out. no matter what i sensor i changed it just kept coming up so that may been the reason.
