Need New Front Rotors
Need New Front Rotors
I've gone through two sets of rotors and I'm tired of the warping of cheap rotors. Can someone make a recommendation under $200 for a set? Pads too. I'm not looking for top of the line, just something sensible.
Thanks
Thanks
yes Mdeezy is right, i got my brembo crossed drilled and slotted for 110 for the front, or you could just get the reguar brembo blanks for about half the price on ebay.
oem pads are good too, but if you want more of a performance pad, ebc green and hawks are great

I know it sounds hard to believe, and I couldn't believe it myself, but I had to take my car to a shop the next day to have the rotors turned.
Unfortunately, because I had a shop turn the rotors, the scumbags at Brembo wouldn't give me my money back. Whatever money I would have saved doing the brakes myself was blown because Brembo sent me severely warped rotors. In addition to being warped, the shop said one rotor didn't even have a sqare plain, so only part of the pad was comming in contact with it. They said this doesn't happen often, but they have seen new rotors like this before.
Bottom line - check your rotors for true when you install them.
On a lighter note - I installed Axxis Deluxe pads and am extremely happy with them. They have great response and feel, and they produce almost no dust. I have heard that the Axxis Metal Masters are hard on rotors, and as you know Maxima rotors warp easily, so you might not want to go with the Metal Masters.
Good luck,
Greg

Good advice on checking the rotors out of the box for anything wrong. You should have returned the rotors as soon as you saw they were warped, instead of paying money to fixed a problem you already paid money to fix that same problem.
