Help me please.....!!!!

I got hit about a month ago now and my car has been sitting at the body shop getting a brand new complete paint job. went there the other day to pick up my car and it does not wanna start. it justs keeps cranking and studering and then all of a sudden the motor back fires threw my intake like a loud poping noice. i try it again it does the same thing and it does not wanna start and all i can smell is gas and no starting up....Does any one know what the H$ll is wrong with my car?...I even changed both crank sensors and the tps sensor...what else could it be???......

It could be one of several things... any codes stored in the ECU?

You changed the crank sensors, but the camshaft position sensor also affects starting and timing.

You need to start at the basics. Make sure you are getting fuel and spark. Then move on to specific timing checks. Good luck.

The Camshaft position sensor controls fuel delivery timing.

Did you check the ECU for any stored error codes?
That's the first place to start.

When I did the exhaust on the car I had to wait a while for the parts, so it was sitting for about a week and a half. When I went to start it, it just sat there and cranked, but after jabbing the pedal a couple of times it eventually fired up. I just moved from FL so I wouldn't know but the GF says when it gets cold the car needs some gas to start also... I'm thinking these cars aren't made for sitting.

Charge the battery. That car was sitting for a month. After it has been recharged the car should crank fine. Use a voltmeter to measure the current after the car has started to ensure that the alternator is functioning properly. Worse case scenerio u probably need a new battery.

I took it as he was saying the car did crank and didn't fire. If it's cranking your battery isn't the problem.
