No, not worth the money..But then again its your money, if you want the gen ii taillights, then do what you have to do. Me personally if I had a 96 would get some clears(some guy is selling them), and just get someone to install leds into them. Stand out from everyone else
Check out Maxrb8's website. He's got Gen II's on his '95 Maxima.

i have a 95 and did the swap to get ghen 2's, was it worth it.....yes. i love them ( well mine are used and were ****ty) they look very nice at night. only mod on my car that i have recieved numerous compliments on. i got used altezzas (although i wish i sprung for new ones) for 120 and the trunk lid was bought at a yard for 120 also. check around locally and buy the bottom latch as well cause my stock one didnt latch and lock the lid shut, i got the 97 one and it was okay.
check cardomain for my pics

I did the swap and am in love with it still. $200 for the lid $75 for the tails. Some think its a waste of money others dont. Some want stillen kits some want the skyline, or saradona etc.
I dont regret it one bit.

Why, oh why, won't the manufacturer of these tail lights see the demand for making them fit our '95-'96's?!
By the way, does anyone know who makes them? Or even where to buy them? I only see these offered on eBay, with no manufacturer listed. You'd think some company would want to take credit for them.

I bet the demand is there... here's why:
Our tail lights represent two years of production, as compared to three years for 97-99. All factors being even, there should be a 2:3 ratio of tail lights out there. However, when a new model is introduced, it always sells more in its first year or two than in following years. Though I don't know production numbers, there should be about the same number of 95-96s as there are 97-99s.
Additionally, the added production cost would be minimal, since half the work is already done. The outer tail lights are the same fit, so only the inners would have to be added.
Combine that with older cars generally equal younger drivers; and younger drivers generally equal more modifications, and I'd say demand is higher for them to fit our cars.

I still say the demand is low seeing as how most 95/96 owners (I'm sure ) would want red clears over the GenIIs. Since the red clears are now available many 95/96ers have jumped on and bought it, I'm sure they wont sell their new lights and buy some GenIIs for their car.
I see where you comming from in your statement but your comment on the production years, you have to remember I'm sure about 5% of the 95/96 community is modded the rest I'm sure is stock so, sadly I'm sure it still wouldnt be worth it to a company otherwise I'm sure Custom Maxima or somewhere else that does maxima parts would have jumped on it.
