Reset ECU on 97 Max

I cannot find any threads/stickies that explain how to reset 97 Max ECU, can anyone explain?

Unplug battery for several hrs is one way i think but I rather do it by turning the screw on ECU but I don't know the exact steps.

your kidding, the sticky is at the top of the 4th gen section.

unplugging battery is another way.

although sometimes unplugging the battery wont do it (happened to me today)

Sorry for my stupidity, but I believed I went thru all the stickies and still I can't find anything about resetting ECU. There is one for a 99 Max ECU but it says for 95-98 it is different method.

If it is in sticky somewhere and I missed it by ready them all twice, forgive me and copy and paste on here, thanks.

straight out of haynes. "Acquire the trouble codes as previously outlined, wait at least 2 seconds, turn the screw to the right again, wait at least 2 seconds, return to original position." worked for me
