Wrecked max this weekend

The guy at the body shop said that the body was shifted so it is going to be like 5g's of work or more, so the insurance company is totalling it. I am trying to see if i can keep it and part it out maybe.

i know what you mean! it seems to happen in streaks or something. honestly. for a while, nothin happens, and then boom, they all jump on the bandwagon and get wrecks.

sorry to sound the way that did. i honestly feel so bad for all these owners and their cars. but it's hard to put myself in your position as nothing severe has happened to my baby yet (and nothing ever will...right..RIGHT!? )

knock on wood.

Yeah 5g's will get you a decent max, just too bad the insurance company won't give him that much.

I would part it out. You'll make more than it will be worth with a salvaged title.

You can fix that for around 2000 max. Insurance doesnt want to pay to fix it b/c its less expensive for them to total it and sell it themselves. Good luck haning on to it you maybe can buy it off them. All insurance companies are different some tight some loose. good luck.

The frame did shift on it. I just got a call from the insurance company. Boy am I lucky I am going to get a whole 700 dollars if I total it. Looks like I might be parting it out but there is something wrong with the engine. I looked at it and it looks like maybe I busted the timing belt. It will start but it is making a banging noise. Would a timing belt cause this? If so it was only started for a bout 10 seconds, is that enough time to wreck the engine? If not anyone want a motor with 200,000 on it?

Our cars have timing chains, not belts.

Also, even if the engine is still working, you probably won't get much for it. I don't think many people will pay much for a 200k engine when you can find engines with much less than 100k for only a couple hundred easily.

insurance is always out to take your money. look at the car's worth vs repair costs, might be better to get another car. good luck

speedo?

If you break it, I'm looking for a speedo.
(The one I bought, the odometer doesn't work...)
Haven't been able to find one marked in Km. The cars were imported back then (96) with US gauges!
