Phantom Grip

Anyone have one of these? Just wondering how good it could be for 300 dollars. But then again its better than the huge cost of a quaife. Let me know ur thoughts.

taken from what my friend told me;

the phantom grip is not a true lsd, its a mechanism that is added into your stock diff which puts preassure on the spider gears causing hte axles to lock. which i think will eventually break down your gears and give you bearing problems.

Exactly... Fake @ss lsd. It is the exact same thing as that vtek (vitek??) lsd crap that stillen sells for the A32 in their catalog.

unless your boosted it wont make that much of a difference anyways. You can find used trannies with vlsd for decent prices, but again, it wont matter unless your boosted.

I was always curious about this myself. I've read different magazine articles in the past where the phantom grip was installed on cars. Never read a negative article about it. Magazines such as Sport Compact Car, Motor Trend and such. I would like to know if anybody on this site personaly experienced this device. Everybody here seems to be going on their opinion, not anything factual.
