naples, wut everyone is asking u to do is to take off ur headers, dyno it....put them bak on and keep track of how long it took to install them, and then dyno it again. to see the difference the headers made. (not sure but im guessing this mite not be possible given the y-pipe wont fit). but imagine it were possible they want u to realize that the gains from the headers isnt worth the install time. but i say, hey, it was $300 bucks, not too much more than a y-pipe, and maybe a few more horsepower than the y-pipe, and if u dont care about install time, its a bargain! some people like working on their cars and dont care how long it takes

If most 4th Gens gain about 10-12 whp from a y-pipe alone, the marginal increase of 2-3 whp from adding those manifolds is not worth the extra install time to some, if not most people. That was my point all along (see post #57 and also #74 and #76 by Nmexmax) and I believe is what was argued in MrEou's thread as well.

Like said before, if you want to sqeeze out that last bit of hp using those shorty manifolds, that's totally fine, but to most others, the extra hassle is not worth it. That's all.
Exactly!...I'll back you up anytime you need. And I HAVE THE SR HEADERS...lol

Take a look at all of his exhaust setups, have you ever seen any cattman exhaust part that hasent fit correctly? or had sloppy welds? or just poor quality in genral? i dont think so. nuff said...
What i posted was a quote from the company that will be producing the next generation of Cattman headers. i have no way to validate those claims. it seemed very odd to me as well, but it is something to think about considering the company that produced the headers is located in New Zealand.

from personal experience i have only praise for Cattman products and service; i have their headers and catback on my car and i love them. i drove down to pick up my set the very same day the shippment arrived at their warehouse in Tucson (back when i lived in phoenix). the amazing sound of the equal length pipes was worth it in itself even if the headers had produced no gains (which we all know is far from the truth).

oh yeah, OBX headers are still worthless, no matter how much Naplesmax goes on about his 'gains'

Thats a Big F to the U. U want him to spend 3-4 hours removing them, then dyno, then put them back on,, and dyno again. , You'll must be crazy. I could of deleted this tread a long time ago. Why don't YOU go buy the headers, and do this, then YOU can help everyone out.

Off topic: Did your car ever get on a front end collission? Your front driver fender is noticably off from the rest of that side of the car.

It's gonna sound like just any other maxima with unequal length exhaust. Maybe slightly raspier. I don't see what the big deal in hearing a clip is...

I know exactly what im talking about n00b. Any maxima with with an unequal length path from each cylinder bank will have a tone that is one octave lower than the intake tone. This is due to the exhaust pulses colliding into each other at the collector due to the difference in velocities. The tone of your exhaust will be no different than of a car with a y-pipe. Equal length headers like the cattman and hotshot will have a distinctively higher pitched exhaust tone.

Based on his past posts and contributions to this site in comparison to your so-called technical explanations thus far, I would have to say that he knows more than you.

Can't you just admit the fact that sometimes you can be wrong (heck, we all can be wrong) and deal with correction and constructive criticism in a more mature fashion instead of trying to look like a know-it-all?

I bet most of u guys are hating cause you dont know the first thing about installing headers without a full detailed writeup with pictures, so instead u say they dont fit good and talk shhhht

If you dnt like headers , then dont buy them???

naples has a good set that fit good and gave his car HP.

this thread is just getting ridiculous, this never should have gotten to page 5 without some sort of gratifying information or praise. This should just be deleted.

Do you honestly think ignorant statements like this increase your level of credibility here on the org? The members above who are "hating" have contributed a lot more than you have and know exactly what they are talking about. The OBX headers have been proven to have fitment issues and until naples replies saying that he installed them himself with no problems, Im assuming its all BS. Also, like someone ahs already said. Spending $300 and an entire day installing some headers that will give maybe 2hp more than a $160 ypipe that takes 30 minutes max to install is NOT worth it. I cant understand how people giving their opinion and defending it is considered "hating".
