AC middle vents
#1
I just bought my 98 Maxima a couple of weeks ago, recently I noticed that the driver side middle vent blows a lot less air than the passenger side middle vent. What i basically want to know is if this is normal, and there's nothing I can do, or should I bring it in to have it looked at since it might be covered under warranty. Any advice or info you give will be appreciated. Thanks.

thats weird
i may be wrong, havent opened it up in a while but i do believe both vents get their air from the same hose/outlet whatever its called, so there really shouldnt be much difference. you might try pulling the vents out and checking for an obstruction, which would be weird. somebody correct me if i am wrong. Oh yah, if you try pulling out those vents, be careful. they break easy

My 97 SE seems to blow stronger in the middle vents too. The drivers side vent isn't very strong even at full blast. Two of my friends with Max's have the same prob. so i think it's fairly normal.

I just tested my 96 GXE vents on the way home. I turned the middle left vent towards myself, and middle right vent towards the passenger side, such that the air blowing angle between the two vents is about 90 degree. A/C was on and at its maximum, and the fan speed was at highest.
My right hand moved around back and forth in front of the vents. I could not tell the difference, neither in air blowing speed, nor the coldness.
